Book Your Pet's Wheelie Good Friends Charity Fundraiser Campaign
At Book Your Pet we believe in positive change and are passionate about creating and supporting safe, inclusive spaces for pets and people.
That’s why we’ve partnered with Pumpkin and Friends Charity (UK registered charity 1199484) for a special charity fundraiser.
Having a disability isn’t a death sentence for our dogs - in fact, it’s just the beginning of a new adventure.
Pumpkin and Friends is a charity dedicated to raising awareness for disabled animals, showing the world how amazing they are and how they deserve to live.
Tammie from Lincolnshire adopted Pumpkin at just 8 weeks old after she’d been surrendered to a local rescue shelter. Her family instantly fell in love with the West Highland Terrier and knew they had to help her.
Unfortunately, an MRI scan revealed that her spine had been broken through extreme trauma. As a result, Pumpkin doesn’t feel pain or any sensation from her waist down. She is also double incontinent, so wears a nappy.
Tammie and her family give Pumpkin a wonderful life, full of adventures and fun and are committed to doing everything to make sure she remains happy and fulfilled.
Pumpkin is now a Disabled Dog Advocate, raising awareness all over the world. To date, she’s raised over £25,000 to help other animals with disabilities. She also works as a therapy dog, spreading joy to people in need.
The Book Your Pet team are now launching their special charity fundraiser campaign to raise money for Pumpkin and Friends to fund 5 free wheelchairs that will transform the lives of dog's with disabilities similar to Pumpkin's.
What Does The Fundraising Campaign Involve?
Over the next two months, Book Your Pet will be hosting some fun and exciting virtual and in-person activities to raise awareness of Pumpkin and Friends, and to encourage people to show their support in raising funds.
Activities will include a 7-day social media photo challenge (launching August 21) and a very special wheelchair race at DogFest at Knebworth House (on September 9).
We'll also share more about the charity throughout the duration of the campaign, giving you more insight into Pumpkin's life and the lives of her friends around the world.
By reaching our initial goal of £1,000 ($1286) we'll raise enough money to provide 5 small dogs (or two larger dogs) with the wheelchair aids they need to continue living their lives to the fullest.
But as well as raising money, we hope to raise awareness for disabled animals around the world. We want to show the world how amazing and how rich a life these animals can live, despite the setbacks life has thrown at them.
Disability doesn't mean inability.
We'll be providing regular updates on the fundraising campaign through our social media channels.
The 7-Day Photo Challenge
Starting on August 21, the Book Your Pet team will be taking part in a 7-day social media photo challenge, and we'd love to see all of you get involved too.
Each day, we'll be sharing a new photo prompt on our Instagram, Facebook and TikTok pages. All you have to do is snap a quick pic of yourself and your furry friends that's inspired by the prompt and then share it to your own page, tagging @BookYourPet and @pumpkinandfriendscharity.

Join Us At DogFest
The Book Your Pet team will be joined by Pumpkin and Friends at DogFest Knebworth House on Saturday, September 9 for a special Hay Bale Race event.
As this year's Hay Bale Race sponsor, the Book Your Pet team have been having so much fun seeing dogs leaping their way to victory. We've been getting to meet so many pups, pet parents, and petpreneurs from all walks of life (including Pumpkin and her mum Tammie!).
It's part of our mission to make sure that everyone feels welcome in our community. Whether you're a new pet business owner, an experienced, petpreneur, a doting pet parent, or a beloved fur baby. We're here to support you to get the best out of life, no matter your situation.
So, join us at 10am as we part the hay bales and make the course a completely inclusive and accessible zone for a very special race that will see Pumpkin and her friends bounding down the course and proving that nothing is impossible.
We’ll be collecting donations for Pumpkin and Friends over the course of the weekend and will also be donating a portion of the proceeds from downloads of our official Hay Bale Race photographs to help support the charity in their mission to support disabled animals around the world.
